the scale framework for enterprise readiness

SCALE

is the operating system through which Enterprise Readiness is established and sustained over time.

It makes visible what most organizations manage indirectly — the structures and behaviors that govern outcomes.

SCALE's Five Readiness Conditions

SCALE is composed of five readiness conditions which must be deliberately designed and governed.

Standardize

Standardize

Standardize

Ensure language, expectations, and ways of working are consistent across the enterprise

Centralize

Standardize

Standardize

Enable the entire organization to access consistent and up-to-date data and information

Align

Standardize

Align

Provide a single source of vision, priorities, and messaging

Lead

Engage

Align

  Model ownership, accountability, and trust

Engage

Engage

Engage

Invite stakeholders to participate in the journey -- past, present and future

SCALE replaces belief with discipline.

Treating readiness as a state of mind allows leaders to maintain confidence while conditions erode.

Effort increases. Communication increases. Control does not.

SCALE is not implemented by program teams.

It is used by leaders to design and govern the conditions under which execution succeeds. Without explicit ownership of these elements, readiness degrades — regardless of effort.
